My Golden Child - Monochrome #4

Oh boy! I have one more to do but I'm just not sure if I will be able to get it done in time :0( This layout is the 4th one of the set but I skipped #3. The monochrome color is harvest time gold and the twist is a hidden journal, which I skipped this time. I'm also entering this one in the no printed paper challenge. If you really look the only thing that I did was ink some white paper, stamp, and mask the rest! I sort of had a hard time with this one as I'm not a 'yellow' kind of person. But I made it work for me and my dd likes it.

These are the products that were used for the completed LO, plus the crop-o-dile:
I used the ekSuccess punches as masks for the border on the entire page and the frame around the picture. I lightly inked the paper under the flowers, and inked the flowers to give them color. And that is it!!

Monochrome wk #2 - October Memories

Oh boy am I behind these past couple of weeks! I have this terrible cold and I have not wanted to scrap. Thank God I am feeling a bit better, not much, but it works so I can get in the mood to finish some projects!
The below layout is the second of four that should be finished this week. The layout is "October Sky" blue for the monochrome challenge, and the twist should be a fall quote.
I made blue flower along with the fence behind the picture and the leaf mask. The fence and the leaf was easy to do. For the fence I just folded a white piece of paper, like a fan, except do not fold the bottom part. Make sure to get the creases in good. Then unfold it and flatten the paper but not too much. Take your inking pad and start inking up and down on the paper. In my case, I used Tim Holtz's distress ink walnut stain. For the leaf mask, I found a leaf template on line, printed it out, then cut the pattern.

You are my Sunshine

This LO was sort of completed last night with the exception of the 2 hand made flowers that were not glued on. Yes, I said hand made flowers that were not in the first batch that I made. My dd picked out the colors and I thought they went beautifully with the pp in the LO. I took the picture one night when we were driving to the pumpkin patch, only to find out it already closed. I did alter the picture by making it a B&W.

Creating Flowers

OMG! I'm super excited because I have finally created hand made paper flowers! It has taken me a couple of times to do but since I have been scrapping more LO's and cards, I seem to have gotten it. There is some patience involved and a little bit of time but over all I got it! I did get a little help from a sb.com friend and her tutorial is on her blog page, http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com. I did modify some of mine a bit but for the most part used her technique.

Challenges - Monochrome #1

Yes that's right - I'm participating in another challenge! I'm really starting to like these challenges. I'm hoping one day I will actually win (or receive a random act of kindness) for the challenge! This challenge is one of four layouts for this month. The first being "fall leaves" orange, and the twist is using 2 different decorative borders. Sorry for the blurry picture, sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't!!

October here I come - New Challenges!!

There are a couple of challenges that I am participating in this month, and I am really excited! The colors, themes, etc., are really good and challenges myself again! Doing something new allows yourself to explore other creativities that you thought you did not have!
The below is first of many that I will be showing. 'Picture Perfect' was created for the Chocolate Kisses - October Colour Challenge (sb.com). My dd loves to take picture and pose for them, as you can see!

Products needed for this LO, plus paper that I bought at Joannes.

Here is the finished product: I used a lot of inking in this LO. the flowers were pre-made die-cuts that I added a little water to and shaped to give them a better flower look.

Closer look at the flowers. Love that the pp is printed!

Some New Cards for all Occasions!

I wanted to take a short break from Layouts to make some cards. I was inspired to try a flower again, after my first attempt was a flop! I think the second time is a charm for me, what do you think? The paper is from an unknown company, since my mom passed away I inherited her stash, and in the stash was pre-made die cuts. So since the budget is getting tighter I looked through it and made the below card. I love the colors as it reminds me of fall!

And for the fun of Halloween....another card for the occasion! The Trick or Treat is a stamp, and I inked the inside orange and border black.
